Privacy Policy

The short version

Wisprcat is built so that your voice never leaves your Mac. The app records audio only while you hold your dictation hotkey, transcribes it locally using whisper.cpp on Apple Silicon, inserts the text, and discards the audio. There are no accounts, no API keys, no telemetry, and no analytics inside the app.

What the app processes, and where

Microphone audio is captured only while the hotkey is held and is processed in memory on your device. Transcripts are placed on your clipboard or pasted into the active app and are not stored by Wisprcat. The speech model (an open-source whisper.cpp model file) is downloaded once from Hugging Face on first launch; that download is the only network request the app makes, and it contains no personal data.

What the app never does

Wisprcat never uploads audio or transcripts, never phones home, never runs in the background listening without the hotkey held, and never requests permissions beyond Microphone (required) and Accessibility (optional, only for auto-paste).

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We receive your email address and payment confirmation from Stripe so we can deliver your license and provide support. We do not see or store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.

This website

wisprcat.vercel.app uses Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics service that collects aggregate page-view data only. We do not run ad trackers and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
